Six faculty (plus our fearless team leader) from several MCCCD campuses worked for a month in May/June 1999 at various TAFE Riverina and CSU campuses.  (I stayed an extra 2 weeks in Melbourne & played.)   It is not possible to accurately capture the essence of this adventure, but what follows is an attempt by one of these six faculty to capture a glimpse of the adventure via hundreds of images taken by the author and some words. My work activities are listed in a link below, but in general, our group lectured or participated in classes, gave formal presentations, attended meetings, toured campuses & labs, and had many hours of discussions with faculty, students, staff and administrators on a wide variety of issues in education and life.  We learned many things from them and they learned a few things from us.  We lived in the homes of faculty and we had several fun excursions that allowed us to explore parts of their beautiful country.   The people were wonderful to me and the personal relationships that I developed are priceless.

• Miscellaneous Adventures - "Penguin Parade", Beechworth, caves, golf, Clydesdale horse stud farm, boomerangs, Dandenongs, Sovereign Hill, Radio interview ...
• The Great Ocean Road - it really is great!  This is a beautiful coast south-west of Melbourne.
• "Australian for Beer" - but the wine is outstanding - some pubs and wineries.
• Great People with whom I lived - these guys are super.

• Culture Shock?  No worries mate!  - Australia is similar to the U.S. - the movie "The Castle" - many US stores in Oz - I even ate Vegemite every day during my last two weeks!
