The animation below simulates the decay of radioactive atoms over time. As soon as the simulation is started with the yellow "Start" button, the atomic nuclei will begin to "decay" (change of color from red to black).

Work with a partner to record the number of parent and daughter nuclei in this sample at 10-second intervals over a 2 minute time period. Notice that you can "pause" the decay process, record your data, and "resume" by clicking on the corresponding button.
